Simon Poole is the Director of a private allied health practice, an APA Titled Exercise and Sports Physiotherapist and Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland. With a career spanning elite sport, paediatrics, concussion management and complex clinical cases, Simon is passionate about helping people move better at every stage of life - from newborns through to high-performing athletes.
Holding a Master of Physiotherapy, dual bachelor degrees in Human Movement Studies and Business (Marketing), and Level 2 Strength and Conditioning accreditation, Simon combines evidence-based physiotherapy with practical performance coaching and education. His experience includes working with community athletes through to Australia’s top swimmers, rugby league, basketball and netball teams, supporting both rehabilitation and peak performance outcomes.
Simon’s work is strongly influenced by developmental neurophysiology, with a particular focus on how posture, diaphragm function and respiratory mechanics influence human performance. Through the lens of the Svara Project, he is interested in how these movement and breathing patterns may shape voice output, vocal endurance and resonance - particularly for singers and performers. By exploring the relationship between trunk stability, breath control and vocal expression, Simon aims to bridge physiotherapy, neuroscience and voice technology to better understand how the body supports communication, performance and human connection.
Outside the clinic and classroom, Simon and his wife Jackie stay busy keeping up with their two energetic boys, Oliver and Atticus — an adventure that continually reinforces his belief in the importance of movement, health and family connection.
